I'm not one of those that haul a 1000lbs of recovery stuff...but here's what I got (and is always in the KJ):

In the trunk:

-first aid kit
-workgloves
-a rag
-fire extinguisher

Glovebox.

-flashlight
-leatherman tool/knife
-a lenght of thin rope
-deodorant(comes in handy with the ladies and you may one day need startpilot for a diesel)
-lightbulb set
-tire deflator and pressure gauge

Under rear seats:

-heavy duty tire iron (oem is crap)
-front and rear tow hook/shackle extensions for the hitches
-LD and HD towstrap and shackles
-a jacket
-a blanket
-a 7'x7' HD plastic sheet
-some ratchet straps
-more lightbulbs and fuses, some other bits and bobs

So I think I can survive the first 24hours.. :D
