Alright, the other day I was heading home down the interstate. There was an accident so lots of stop and go traffic. Eventually when I really started going again, I noticed that when I braked it would pull to the left, and there was a burning smell from the front left brake. So figured it was a stuck caliper. Took it to the shop the next day but it drove fine then, no burning, no turning on braking. They didn't see anything wrong except needing new pads and turning the rotors. Fine one time deal, I thought. Picked it up, drove about 55 mph for a couple miles, stopped for gas and noticed the rear left smelled hot. Thought maybe it was just from the new pads so got on the interstate. The rear end starting jumping around a little and I could notice it was sluggish. Got off at the next exit and the rear right was burnt up. Made it all the way back to the repair shop, which was closing then, and the right rear was still just burning up. You could hear it crackling from the heat. So they thought maybe the hoses for the front could have collapsed which wouldn't release the pressure. Hoses for the front $33 each. Not bad. Hoses for the back they are saying somewhere around $385 because they can't find an aftermarket. Any suggestions? |

Jeepinbyal.com has some alternative brake lines and i have had issues with my master cyclinder before locking both front breaks on after i would hit the pedal a few times. Also see if there are any holes in the Piston boots on the inside of the calipers. I know that I found one in my drivers front that was allowing dust and water in it and caused it to stick open. |

Just ordered the Jeepinbyal Stainless Steel replacements. I found a local shop that could make them but had to remove my hoses so they could match them up. i figured by the time I got them off, drove to the next town, and waited for them to make it, I might as well just order these. It's a little more money but less hassle. I hope they work. |

(Or pics - even better) I ran the braided hoses from Classic Tube when still IFS,gave a better brake pedal feel since the flex lines will not expand like the OE rubber ones. All my flex lines are still from Classic Tube when I SFA'ed,just much longer. |
