So I've had this issue off and on for a few months now. Normally is happens once a month but this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks. The battery will randomly get low sometimes just low enough where it will not start. I had the battery tested since it is under 6 months old, they said it was fine. Also check the alternator, and tested for battery draw both came back fine. I have a EVIC I installed but it cuts off when the jeep cuts off, AMP but again is connected to the remote wire so it cuts off as required, Ultragauge that again cuts off as it should. The only strange things is their have been times I have cut the radio on and had it on for few hours and it starts fine. Last week it was on 10 mins while I installed by back up lights and it wouldn't start. This morning I don't know. Jeep was not moved yesterday but was ran the night before and it was dead this am. However I can go to work for my 24hr shift and it starts fine???! Any ideas? |

Disconnect the + from the batt and put your meter in series with the post and the cable and read current draw. If it's high, start pulling fuses until there's a significant drop. Then you know where to start looking. If it's an Optima battery, be prepared for the possibility the POS has shat the bed too. |
