I'm just assuming that the CRD and the gassers have the same fuel tank, so I'm posting here hoping that more people will see it. My 06 libby has a fuel leak on the top of the tank somewhere. I have checked and it is not coming from the feed hose, its coming from the top of the tank. When parked at the pumps on the level its running down the back of the tank and dripping off. But as far as i can tell its only doing it right after i fill up and let the pump kick off. It never did this until the last few months (after i got it stuck in mud/water up to the rocker panel lol) I'm not sure if maybe something pushed up on the tank and it cracked the top or if there is a vent up there or what? does anyone have experience with that leak? or do the have any pics of what the top of the tank looks like? That is if the gas one is the same as the crd. Thanks |

Yeah the CRD's and gassers use the same tanks, just the CRD get's a "dummy" pump with just a pickup in place of the gassers fuel pump.It could be many things, the vent or the "dummy" pump seal would be my guess. You really need to drop the tank to find the problem though. |

I thought I had read some where that there is an access panel to the fuel pump under the cargo area mat? Might be easier than dropping the Tank, but I may be thinking of another vehicle. |

Yes, according to my 2002 CRD Service manual, you remove the two "tie down" hooks on the load mat at the rear then the mat can pivot forward for access to the top of the tank. I have never tried it though! Edit to add: They state that you have to drill out the rivets on the two rear "tie down" hooks and then flip the mat over. Obviously then replace the rivets with self tapping screws or with pop-rivets! |

I was planning on droping the tank to check it out after i run this tank down (just filled up) My main reason for posting was to see if anyone had this happen. And thanks for the awesome info about the access from the top. I'll have to check that out. |
