Hi guys-I haven't been here in a while but I need your help. I have had another window regulator failure :( I know somewhere on this site someone posted a letter from chrysler regarding this issue and how it can be fixed with a small co-pay or something. Does anyone have the link to this info? I just made an appt online at the dealership for monday after work so I havent spoken to a live person yet but i want some ammo to take with me in case they try charging me another $300 or so. I know I printed the info out before but now I cant find it. Thanks in advance!

Only applies to '06 and '07 KJ's.

I used the information on this sight when my rear window behind driver broke back in Jan. this year. I went to my dealership and when i made the appointment and showed them the letter, they said it only applied to a certain part on the regulator and they wouldn't know if that was the problem until they got into it and looked. I told them go ahead anyways and do the repair. Was the 2nd one that broke since I bought the 06 new, and I never use that window, so real PITA. When they took it apart "it was" the part that was covered and there was no charge to me.

That information is here on this forum somewhere and you can find it if you do some searching. Don't remember what year applies to but was told by dealership that the problem with the regulator part was extended for 7 years, so if you have an 04 that makes 2011 7 years, it's worth the try, and will save you a few hundred dollars.

I am hoping they will cover most of the cost. This is the third time for the same window in a little over 2 years. I absolutely dont have the funds to pay the full price so if they wont cover it I will ask them to somehow get the window up and permanently secure it up somehow. I keep saying I am going to buy the kits from Steiger (spelling?) and find someone to replace them all but I just haven't had the funds. It ticks me off that I didn't have the window lock on so when I had a rear seat passenger in the car today they rolled it down-the kiss of death lol. I never roll the back windows down and rarely have back seat passengers. In fact I am almost possitive this window hasn't been rolled down since the last time it was fixed.

Call Chrysler... dealership can't authorize it as warranty without Chrysler okay. Call them Monday morning and tell them what dealership it is at and who to contact there to verify it is the regulator and it should be 100% covered. I have had 12 replaced that way.
