Anyone know off the cuff what size of sockets will need to swap out my front wheel hubs, and are the hubs on parts geek dot com any good? http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/2005/jeep/liberty/driveshaft_-ar-_axle/wheel_hub_assembly.html or if these are worth my time http://www.am-autoparts.com/Jeep/Liberty/wheel-bearing-hub-front/AM-22182746/349692.html Thanks, Groo |

E-16 for bolts on hub bearing. Get Timken bearings. |

Thank you all for your input, getting the tools and hubs this week... this week they should be replaced with copious beer. Cheers, Groo |

Cheers, Groo How did it go, hoping to do them myself quite soon (Jeep is undrivable the noise is so bad) Coming from a noob with enough experience to get in too deep. |

Drives like a dream again, really it is a night and day difference. The job is not too bad, just time consuming. Thanks to all for the advice. Oh some swivels come in handy when you are trying to get to the E-16 bolts on the back of the hub assembly. Thanks to all, Groo |

No the beer does not make the bearings quit squealing, nor does it make me a better wrench. The only thing beer does is make things more fun, and add satisfaction to a job....especially when all the beer you drink is beer you made yourself. Only problems with beer are you have to wait till you sober up to do a test drive, and how efficiantly it flushes your system.....hmmm beer in the master cylinder or tranny may cure some woes... Thanks again Gents, and I do so enjoy the humor here, Groo |

any part numbers on a timken bearing? what is this modified flange shape? |

I don't know about the modified flange, it did not catch my eye. At the time I could only find nationals with the ABS sensor from partsgeek, so I used what was available. The nationals hub had the same part numbers and country of manufacture as my OEM hubs so I figured it wouldn't hurt to use them (that country being Canada). You could also look at rockauto or mopar parts online, but as I recall mopar only had the left assembly in stock, I needed the right. I hope this is useful, Groo |

Good information, as always, guys! The star socket (or reverse torx) is an E-14, rather than an E-16, though! |
