| Post subject: | Cleaning fuel system/injectors |
Okay, so far I changed out the spark plugs, drained and flushed the tranny, and serviced the transfer case. Now I need to REALLY clean my fuel injection system. My question, what is the most effective way of cleaning out the fuel system, and injectors. I'm trying to restore some of the lost mpg. Before the plug change ( they were really shot, 5 were wore all the way to the porcelin 2 were gapped at 40 and 3 at 90. ) |

I replied in an eariler post i used the 3 step process that you can buy at the autoparts stores and it works great. it is the same kit that most places charge 70-90 bucks to do. First step cleans out the throttlebody second step runs through the vaccum hose into the combustion chamber third step goes in the gas tank. the kit is 25 or so bucks and takes 15 minutes to do. it worked really well for my jeep Chris |

I must have missed that post, I'll go back and look for it. Would you happen to know the name brand of the kit/system, Does it require shop air i.e. aircompressor? I've seen one on tv along time ago that required an air compressor. |
