So since I sank my Jeep it whines whenever I press the gas. I'm not sure if it's the a/c compressor or the alternator. Everything works fine, but it's an annoying whine noise. I didn't want to put a muffler on here, but if it covers up the whine I'll be happy. My first car was a 3.8 supercharged gtp with flowmaster 40s and it droned horribly. I thought it was cool when I was 16, but now I would hate the noise.

Saw these today at pep boys:

Just because it says magnaflow doesn't mean it's going to sound good right? I can't imagine a glasspack sounding good on a v6. It's cheap though and looks like a nice muffler.

It may sound good, but it will be VERY loud.

could be one of those things.. OR .. it could be the tensioner - and any grit / water etc that managed to get it's way into the unit just finished off what usually lasts 15-30k miles
