2004 KJ. I had gas dripping/spraying out from under the Jeep rear. Would only happen when engine was running. Leak was in the short connector line from the top of the fuel tank to the fuel line. This connector line is about 2 feet long with fittings on both ends. It looked like something above it rubbed two places. One place was at the fitting leaving the tank TOP of the tank and the actual hole was at the one about 3 inches away. This thing sprayed gas on the exhaust area and pipe. I was very lucky that I saw it while looking at a possible low tire with the engine idling. Otherwise I may not have seen it. Had to get it towed to an independent very good Jeep tech. They replaced this pipe/hose. I do pull a boat with it sometimes. It has not been treated roughly at all or customized - it is stock 3.7L 4WD. Mostly street driven 43K miles. Any ideas on what the heck is going on would be appreciated. Anybody ever seen this??? Thanks. |
