Hey fellas, i just took the trip down to the local Mineke to get a quote on getting a Flowmaster 50 SUV installed, as if you hadn't already guessed, he quoted me at $175.00 including install. Does that sound reasonable or should i say "yeah right" and try somwhere else? Thanks, -Savage- |

I got my big magnaflow muffler installed for the price of the muffler and 60 buks for the install. All I replaced was the muffler b/c the liberty already has 2.5" inch pipe and you dont want to go any bigger. Plus I like that the exhaust tip doesn't stick out and make me loose clearance. But either way I think $175 for JUST the install is deffinatly over priced. |

no, no, it's $175.00 for muffler AND install, assuming the muffler is about $100.00 then i guess it doesn't seem so bad. |

Thanks, -Savage- That is alittle high Savage. I'd say that muffler goes for around $100 and $75 just to put it in is alittle rough. Ive seen the plain flowmaster 50 series go for $80. Look around alittle before you pay that much, maybe its just the area you live in? Here it is for $90+shipping. I wouldnt pay $175 for that. http://store.summitracing.com/default.a ... toview=sku |

Just so you know I got my Flowmaster 40 & installed for 125.00 here localy from a small shop. I went to the said place that you went to here and they quoted me 340.00 installed............... So you got a better price that I was quoted from said shop. but I still found a cheaper place... My suggestion go to Flowmasters site do a delaer lookup in you area and then call around til you find the best price. Then you will know you got a good price. BTW dont fall for this we need to have a speical right to left side change over pipe to make it work story.... pipe bends and a good shop can make it work. Later, Dan |

In my opinion I have heard the Flowmaster exhaust on the Libby and I dont like it. No offense to anyone who has it. I personally dont like the raspy loudness. If you do then thats great man find a good deal. I got the Magnaflow suv muffler designed for the big V8's to reduce cabin noise and raspy-ness. It's deep and it growls I'd seriously consider the Magnaflow muffler. The Muffler shop sold it to me for $80 buks so all together Paid around $140-$150 and couldn't be happier. GOOD LUCK! |

OK, well the guys at Midas quoted me at about $150.00 to $160.00, but they want to knock me down to a 2.25" muffler because the stock flange starts at 2.5" and then bumps down to 2.25", same with the tailpipe, comes out of the muffler as 2.25" then bumps up to 2.5", what do you guys think??? |

I think you should forget about Midas. And find a good privatly owned muffler shop. Normally those guys work deals better, and treat you more like a customer rather than a wallet. And private shops I'm sure have done more customizing than Midas doing Honda Civics all day. Just my opinion....good luck |

Muffler Master in Rock Hill, SC: Series 40 Flowmaster $90.00 installed $175.00 sounds a bit excessive. Allen |

hmm, that's weird, the muffler itself is $96.00, and that's what he pays (or so he says) |

I went to a private muffler shop and had a Magnaflow installed for a $100. He could have done a Flowmaster 40 also for the same price. He didn't stock the Series 50 so I went with the Magnaflow. |

yeah, i'm not too keen on Magnaflow, i just don't like the way they sound, please don't take offense to this, but it just seems to me like they can take any engine and make is sound like a riced out four-banger....now i haven't heard the libby exhaust from them, but i just don't know if i'm willing to risk it. I think i'll probably just go to the local private muffler shop, he quoted me at $170, as compared to $175 at mineke, and $150-$160 at Midas. But like i said before, Midas wants to cut me down to a 2.25" muffler. If anyone here has a magnaflow 2.5" (or any 2.5" for that matter) I'd love to see some pictures, this way i can maybe take it to the muffler shop and show them EXACTLY what to do...Thanks |

well, go to flowmaster's site and listen to any or all of their stuff, then go to Magnaflow's site and do the same thing, you'll DEFINATELY hear the difference... |

DynoMax UltraFlow... sounds like a V8 at start up. very nice idle sound and small blips really sound ballsy... sounds like a 4.6 v8 with a little louder muffler. I paid 70$ for the muffler, and welded it right into the stock tail pipe... you could even clamp it your self with a $2 adapter. and dont bash the clamp idea... if the 2 pieces are the correct size and they will seal and hold just as good as a weld. |
