Don't jump to conclusions that I'm an idiot. I dont have a Liberty. I've been flopping back and forth about what kind of SUV to get and I think I have settled on a Liberty as soon as someone will buy my car. I'm looking for ideas on stereo set-ups and made a box for a friend that never got used. It looks like a spare tire and I was just wondering if it could be used in a Liberty. In other words, is the spare in the rear cargo area and even if it isnt could a "tire" with a 24" height fit back there, standing up on the "tread" the way a real spare does, kinda off to one side? |

You certainly caught my attention! LOL. I don't think the box would fit lying flat in the rear cargo department. It may, but I think it would be tight at best. |

I think you could probably put it upright in back if you ran the "tire" perpendicular to the real tires; if it's only 24" in diameter it might fit parallel though. |

A tire would not fit in the back of he libby like a "real" tire does. |

Yeah KJs don't actually have "real" tires.....so I think it would be difficult to get a "real" tire off the tailgate and place it in the back. |

I've driven around with my spare in the cargo area, there's plenty of room. It does flop around back there when accelerating, brakeing and taking turns. I was a little worried about how hard it was hitting the rear glass. But if there were some way to secure it, I bet you could remove the grocery bag hooks (if you can live without them) and fab up some kind of tire mount pretty easily. |

FYI a stock tire will fit lying flat in the cargo area... Whatever diameter that is. |
