| Post subject: | the jeep is gone for good. :( |
Early Sunday morning around 3am I was driving some friends home when i was ran off the road by what I assume was a drunk driver. I was coming around a corner and i se headlights in my lane coming fast. I swerve off the side of the road and next thing I know I'm pulling a friend out of my jeep. I'm assuming after the firstswerve i tried to swerve back onto the road and that's when the jeep flipped and started to roll. I don't know how many times we rolled but it was more than once and it was a gnarly roll. The front axle was pushed back, one leaf spring broke in half, the other leaf spring shackle mount was ripped from the frame, every body panel had bad damage, AC inside was torn from the dash, roll cage and windshield fram were bent pretty bad, the front driveshaft was shoved back and ripped the t-case in half, front axle was bent on the drivers side, and the whole front clip was destroyed. Not too sure if the engine still runs, it probably does gut too many wires were ripped out and all the acid from they battery was draine. Everyone had their seatbelts on except for one person even though before we even started moving i told everyone to buckle in. I even told them that the top will not hold them in in a roll. The one person not buckled in was ejected but only sustained a couple cuts and some bad bruising. She only had to get 3 staples. The other girl had a chipped veribrae and my other friend only had bruises and a couple torn tissues. I suffered a concussion from hitting my forehead on the steering wheel, but other than that I am alright. They never found outnwjo ran me off the road and that disappoints me. But here are the couple pictures i have of my jeep, there are more on my moms phone that I need to have her email to me. ![]()

WOW. I'm glad to hear everyone is ok. Your friend without the seatbelt could have had it much worse. Seatbelts are especially important in the Wrangler. |

That is why I always tell everyone to buckle up. I always smack the top to show them how flimsy it is and point to the warning printed on the top saying its not designed to hold you in. |

Glad everyone escaped more or less ok. It could have been a lot worse, especially for the person who was ejected. I went on a couple of calls as an EMT with wranglers, it can get pretty ugly |

Glad ya alright, closest thing to a jeep i've rolled was an 87 bronco II and it was no fun but the vehicle did as designed and kept me from getting more than a bad concussion and some cuts even though I took a telephone pole down with it ~ 8 feet off the ground reckon your friend might put her seat belt on next time |

My jeep did take a telephone pole down with it and quite a few saplings and a couple bushes. I know i will be getting another wrangler though, this time a tj though. I want airbags and ABS. What pisses me off the most is the cop made me do a field sobriety test. After I just totalled my most prized possesion, got a concussion, beat the hell out of my knee, and thought two of my friends might die, why would you field test someone who just went through all of that? I failed the walking in a straight line and he gave me a dui and took me to jail. Once I got there they sent me to the hospital for an MRI and they drew blood. So whenever those results get back it will get dropped and I wil find that officer and call him a huge Beavis to his face. |

The police will usually give a breathalyzer if they think it warrants it. The field sobriety test is just to get some hilarious footage. Good luck keeping that in court. Bunch of BS. |

That sucks, well for anyone else's info, and yours if, god forbid something like that ever happens again Sit your Donkey on the curb and wait for the ambulance, don't lay down, but sit down. If the officer tries to give you a FST, refuse to get up - notify them that you have a concussion and are awaiting medical treatment - the officer can get a blood test from the hospital as to whether or not you were under the influence of anything. I don't know any state that allows FST's for people awaiting medical treatment for head injury. Naturally if you're already up stumbling around.. |

I told him I felt fine, but that was from the biggest adrenaline rush of my life. He should have noticed the lump the size of a goose egg of my forehead and the cut that was profusely bleeding. After the adrenaline wore off I felt like poopoo. He then put me in the back of his car for 2 hours before we left and let me fall asleep. Something you shouldn't let someone do who just sustained a head trauma. |

glad everyone was (sort of) OK, as already mentioned, things could have been a lot worse. I hope you'll at least get some insurance money to help replace the Jeep. |

Glad everyone made it out alive Budke, from the picture, it looks like you all took one heck-of-a ride. Don't forget to take off any& all skid plates and any other "extras" that you've added to the Jeep. You could use them on the next one or sell them if you go a different route. |
