For the past month, every time i've fueled up my 03 Liberty, it has trouble starting. I pump the gas a few times and it starts up eventually. What's weird is it only does this when i get fuel. It will start perfectly for a week strait, but if i put gas in it , it will have trouble again. I buy fuel at a variety of places, so i dont think it's the gas it's self. Any Ideas!? When you say "will start perfectly for a week..." does that include the same duty cycle as when you fill up? Try driving around to heat things up, turn it off for about the same amount of time as it takes to fill up with fuel, and try starting up again. If it has problems starting when it is still hot, then vapor lock might be the problem. If it starts up normally, open the fuel filler cap to relieve the fuel system pressure and try starting to see if that presents a problem. One way or another you should be able to reliably duplicate the symptoms, then from there you can start narrowing things down. |
