Hi folks, I might have a line on a not running CRD and was woundering if the auto trany will alow the rear wheels to turn in neutral while the front are on the dolly. Reason for asking is last year I sold a 5 speed stnd YJ I had laying around and despite the fact we put it in neutral and the transfer case in neutral, The rear wheels stayed locked up unless the front tires were able to roll, as we pushed it onto the dolly easy but found the rear drive shaft had to come off to tow. Is this the same deal with that 5 speed auto in the CRD? If so, are the rear U joints bolt/cap removable or press in w/ clip on all 4 ends? Thanks a bunch.. |

I don't know why but you put the transfer in neutral and the tranny in park. That is according to the manual. I towed my KJ all over the country that way. It was behind my motorhome. From Maine to Oregon. No problems. Terry |
