My oil pressure light kept coming on, after finding where they hid it, I noticed a slight oil leak. I pulled the senser after some naughty choice words and noticed that the plastic house was letting itself go from the housing. I picked up a new senser (pricey) a tooi out f the box and snapped the plastic piece off just hand tightning it. So I got another one, last one at parts store and.....yep broke it putting it back in, I got it tight and filled it back up with oil and no leak but now the oil pressure light stays on. I would love and cherrish any advise on how to replace this without breaking it. |

Use a oil pressure sensor socket,or a deepwell 27mm/28mm socket(make sure the sensor fits all the way into the socket 1st).Take the serp belt off for more room. |

So what you are saying is use the right tools? Did not even know they made a socket for OPS... Thanks Tom, I will check on it tommorrow |

I just did this (after checking the real oil pressure). Mine was leaking and tripping at low RPMs. I used a 1 1/16 inch socket. Make sure it's deep enough and remove the oil filter first. Make sure you get the right sensor. I'd get it from a dealer. I tried an aftermarket and although listed as "exact fit", it was actually designed for a vehicle with a gauge. It did fit "exactly" but the sensor causes my light/alarm to go off periodically at around 2000 rpms. Not the exact application. I guess alot of DCs use the same type of sensor and it cross references with many models probably with gauges. I have to admit that when I went back and read the fine print it did say "for gauge", so my bad. |

The oil pressure sensor is located right above the oil filter? I have an 03 and I have what looks like a sensor leaking on passenger side right below valve cover toward front of engine. There are three wires on the plug. There is a bolt next to it holding it in. Anyone know what this is that is leaking oil? |
