A friend who has his own garage was doing some work for a car lot that bought some surplused BP 4WD's (removing all the skids, diff. covers, suspension straps, etc.). Got to talking about how the '02-'04 skids for the KJ were discontinued from Jeep, and thought about fabbing some up from steel tube and plate. Just need a link to the factory PDF instructions for the '02-'04 to see what points were used for mounting. Idea is to use factory mount points so no drilling required.

So does anyone have a link to the PDF factory install instructions for transmission and transfer case skids for the '02-'04 ?? Thanks.

Just look at your cradle, the 4 empty holes with threads(2 front,2 rear) are the ones used.

I have the factory front skid that came with the KJ, is that the one you're refering to when you said to check the cradle ?? Maybe I should have been clearer. I need the mounting points for the trans. and tranfer case skids. I thought the PDF install instructions would cover them all. Thanks.

Thanks :D .... Unfortunately since my buddy's shop was completely wiped out by the tornado that went thru Henryville, IN it will be quite awhile before we can get around to fabbing up any skid plates. For anyone interested his shop was right next to the building that has the school bus thru the front of it across the street from the high school.....
