While I have the 3.7 apart im replacing parts that appear to need it. This 03 3.7 has 97xxx miles on it and one of the connecting rod bearings had spun. So pulled the motor, noticed motor mounts could be replaced-drycracking and stress cracked in places. Putting in an EPW reman crankshaft-comes with all bearing-ordered through napa, ordered a new mopar oil pump, pick up tube and piston/connecting rod assembly. While im in here I decided to look at timing components, essentially I am replacing everything but the gears and chains which all appear to be in perfect shape. I pulled the heads and am having them serviced, only one intake valve was leaking by and appeared to have a slight headgasket leak so im taking them in and having them checked out. I have 2 new head bolt sets along with 6 new connecting rod bolt sets. All parts are either top of the line napa, fel-pro, or Mopar. Have I over looked anything? Any insight? An answer if this is an interference motor? Should I run a tube of lucas motor breakin fluid?-it says on the bottle can damage catalytic converters so I may not bother. At this point ill be into this for about $1200 in parts. I could have swapped out a a junk yard motor into it for the same price but thats a gamble all in its own.

Yes it is a interference engine but the likely hood of a chain breaking or going off time enough to do damage is virtually zero as long as it was timed right from the get go.
