Will be putting new tires on my '05, 3.7 with select trac. I do modest off roading, but like most people 95% of my driving is on pavement. Both tires get good reviews, the only difference being the size of the tires. The Firestones are only available in 235/70/16 while I can get the Hankook in 225/75 /16 which is the 1st choice for this vehicle. I know it isn't a big difference, but I am leaning toward the Hankook's for that reason. Any opinions?

I have run both. Either one is a good choice. I thought the Hankook was slightly superior in the rain.

Just spent some time over on the tire forum, probably should have posted there, but I'm here now. Still can't decide between the two as I am now thinking I might go 235/75/16, as both are offered in this size it makes the decision even tougher. Seems that not many are running this size, do they rub on a stock liberty? I saw one post of someone saying this was the largest that would work without a lift, they are just slightly taller than the 245/70/16, but also a bit narrower.

I have run both. I thought the Hankooks were better on wet and snow, they cleaned out very well. But the Firestones are a close second and are a little quieter on the road. You would not have a problem choosing either one.

If you are near a pomp's tire center they had the best price around my house on the Hankooks around Christmas 2010. At the time $100 each, mounted, balance, etc

My :2cents:

My 235/75r16 BFG long trail (new with full tread) fit great stock (with sagged suspension) so I'd get which ever is lighter.

I have the Firestone Destination A/T’s and like them. I bought them last June when Firestone was running a special, buy 3 and get one for free. They have done very well in the snow and ice. For an A/T tire, they are hard to beat. I’ve had people tell me that the Michelin A/T2 is also a great tire.

I have had Hankook Dynapro ATM's on all my work trucks.
Our KJ also had them when we first bought it and we drove on them until they were absolutely worn out.
Excellent tires, especially in the wet. Off road they do pretty decently for an A/T tire.
I would of bought them again but we wanted an M/T tire after we lifted our Rig.

Ended up getting the Firestone's today in 235/75/16, they fit well and look great with just a slight rub at full lock. They are as quiet as everyone has said, I went for a quick run off road and they seemed to grip very well in soft sandy soil. I'll be putting them through a lot more than that over the next few months though.

I think they will meet and/or exceed your expectations. The only problem that I found with the Firestone A/T’s was the inability to clean themselves when in clayish type of soil. I don’t think that problem is specific to the firestone A/T since most A/T tires have tight tread patterns leaving themselves prone to clay buildup.
