Nice hook! I would love to find one for cheap. I'm just not going to give $40+ for something like that. I can stick my pin through the loop in my strap and hold it in the hitch better than that can. I would like to get a D-ring and put it in the hitch.

Off topic I know, but I just have to throw in my $.02. Personally I think it'd be cool if I could trace my ancestry back that far, but as far as I know I can't. I'm sure I had some Confederate relatives though. You don't have to agree with what they were fighting for to be proud of 'em. I'm done now :?

Just a reminder...we try our best to keep this a friendly, informative site for our Jeeps. Let's keep it at that. There are some topics and comments that don't need to be posted here, please do your best and use your common sense to figure out what should be posted and what shouldn't. Without respect to our fellow members, we're just another site and I know we're better than that.

Thanks.

For those that can't find them that cheap, I've seen them in Menards stores for about $17. This store might just be a midwest thing though...

Anyone know where you can get either a hook or shackle for a class 11 hitch (1 1/4" receiver)?
All the ones I've seen are for a 2" receiver.

Thanks :)

BTW, nice find on the hook!

Any of you Texas peeps want one of those, I'll give you mine for $0.00. It's in my storage closet, made by Warn.

And just to throw mt 2cents in.

I'm of Commanche / Austian heritage (makes me one stubborn - ornery SOB when I am mad) and have no relatives that fought in the Civil War.

I'VE GOT THE SAME HOOK!!! Good job on that one. Although I paid $15 at the flea market, it was well worth it. I'm hoping I get to use it soon haha........ It looks pretty sweet too. 8)

Look for them in ATV supply places, since 4-wheelers generally have the smaller size hitch receiver. I personally think it's a Bad Idea, since a 1 1/4" receiver probably isn't strong enough to pull a liberty, so a shackle in a 1 1/4" receiver will definitely not be enough to recover one.
