Thats a cool little device....never saw something like it before. Where exactly does it go though? If your putting it in the actual air intake tubing I would think it is doing more harm than good by restricting air flow

My 2006 Dodge diesel pickup came with a filter minder from the factory. It is located on the air filter box and shows when the filter needs to be replaced.

I'm going to have some made (calibrated) for our gasoline engine. I'll let you know when those come available. They seriously come in handy. There are times when my filter looks pretty good, but in actuality, the filter minder reveals that the filter is dirty and clogging, not allowing as much air flow as what the engine needs. It's a much better method to monitor the condition of your air filter than holding your filter up to the light, lol.

to the original question - one's threaded, one's a grommet mount in a open hole
if the intake has a threaded opening ( and they do have 3 different threads)- you use the thread filter minder
if the intake doesn't (and I've never seen a KJ with a threaded mount) then you drill a hole and install a grommet.

Okay, that's what I needed to know. I wasn't sure what they meant by a "threaded mount". But for obvious reasons, I'd have to go with the grommet mount. Thanks for clarifying that.

It doesn't mention if it comes with the grommet - so you might need one of the variety packs and then pick one that keep everything tight
