I was at the Jeep/Dodge dealership yesterday with Chris and his partner because they were buying a new Dodge Hemi for the business and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to get the brochure for the '06 Libby that mentions LOST. I asked the sales guy for the "new brochure for the KJ" and he said "what is a KJ". So I said, "the Liberty, the model designation is KJ" And he said....."Is there a little model inside or something?" I had to explain to him what model numbers are and all that. Ok, call me crazy, but I want the guy selling me a vehicle to know a LITTLE bit about it!! His excuse was that he is "new" but that is BS cause he sold Chris his other Dodge last year!!! What is up with that?

Yeah...just the standard dealer response. I agree that some dealers are alright without question, and most are lucky to have a good experience, but for the most part you have to kinda dumb yourself down to have a conversation with these guys when it comes to your KJ.

I agree. I am not a technical person at all, so it's kind of sad when I'm getting my Jeep service and end up explaining differances to the salespeople. At least they're nice...

HaaaHaaahaaahaahahahahaha :-)r

I've heard some great salesman lines but THAT is just priceless!

I was explaining that "yes, 'CRD' means that it has a diesel engine" when I was test-driving what became my rig for the first time. I also showed him that it had seat heaters and how they worked, told him what TrakLoc meant, and explained the Jeep wave to him (he owned a Wrangler and had no idea).

Just when they thought something was foolproof...someone goes and builds a better fool. :-)

Ok, I have to admit that I had to look up what the "Jeep wave" was. Didn't realize that I had been doing the wave at Camp Jeep, I was just being friendly. Anyway, while I was looking up the info I found a fun page describing how to properly perform the Jeep wave. It even goes into great detail to describe a point system for ranking a Jeep. http://www.hrja.org/jeep_wave.htm
