ATF+4 is now available at Advance Auto Parts and its a little cheaper than the stealership. Probably also available anywhere else Valvoline transmission fluid is sold.

It has also been at Carquest for a while now. It is the actual Mopar stuff, but cheaper than buying at the dealership.

You can also get it on Ebay. Right now there is a guy selling 12 quarts for $70 shipped. Auction

Sure enough my local Advance had the Valvoline ATF+4 fluid available for 4.68 a quart. The problem was that I asked them to look up the transmission fluid filter for me on their computer and the only one they could get a part number for was the 45rfe tranny. Their computer said that ALL years of the Liberty had that tranny. So I had them look under the Wrangler since they use the 42rle also. They got a part number, but when they tried to search their inventory for it, it came up with an error that the part number didn't exist. So you can get the fluid there but not the filter. Other than the dealer (wanted $18 for the filter), where else can I find the filter?

I think a dealership or www.newmoparparts.com is going to be your only hope. There are other websites out there-but I don't know em.

Jeep is weird when it comes to replacement parts-checker/napa/advance really doesn't carry anything for em. I have yet to break something and be able to get a replacement part at a third party vendor.

The filter is not a broken-needs-to-be-replaced type item. It's for scheduled maintenance. Do they make it this hard just so you have to get your work done at the dealer? Maybe DC really does get kickbacks from the dealers for doing maintenance work.
