Ok so I finally got my roof basket installed this weekend. It's going to be great for hauling gear camping and stuff. Anyway, the problem is above 45 mph the noise is terrible! I thought I would be able to live with the wind noise, but I can't...this is LOUD. I have the basket they are selling on overstock.com. So it's not a Thule or Yakima. It's made by Bauer Vehicle Gear. Does anyone here know of an attachment that will work with this basket and reduce wind noise?? |

What noise? I have had that basket for over a year and don't have noise........then again, I have the Renegade roof lights in front of it. Go get some Reny lights and that'll solve your noise problem. |

Man the sound of MTs doesn't bother me, the wind noise with the windows down doesn't bother me, most things don't bother me. But the noise this basket makes bothers me...a LOT. It's loud. In fact, my wife hasn't ridden in the Jeep yet since I put it on...she's going to be mad when she rides in it next. I guess my only option is one of those $50 pieces of fairing they sell for the front of the Yakima baskets. Maybe that will work on here too. :O( |

i have the BVG rack also (got it from overstock as well)... i went ahead and got a Thule fairing for the front of it... i don't have any pics yet, but i was able to mount it to the bottom bar of the rack and the fairing has little feet that sit on the roof of the KJ... basically, it works... no noise and i don't have the light bar either... only time we can hear any wind noise from the rack is when were driving in a strong cross wind. hope this helps.. mb818 |

So the Thule fairing will bolt to the BVG basket? Cool, that does help. I was thinking about the Yakima fairing also...it's all I can find. Thanks. |

Check Thule.com for the size of the fairing that you need then search ebay. I picked up a brand new one for a friend of mine for $30 shipped. At least you can try to save a few bucks on it. |

Thanks for the tips. Has anybody ever tried using the Yakima Wind Jammer?? It's only $15 and is supposed to cut down wind noise...but I don't see how it would mount to the basket itself. It looks like it only mounts to cross bars. Anybody have experience with these? |
