Post subject:  Lift Friendly Dealerships

Hey I just read a post about how the man found a lift friendly dealerships, so I was thinking that there are enough ppl here that still take thier KJ's to the dealership for work. I figured it would be nice to have a nationwide list of lift friendly dealerships that you guys go too. We all travel at somepoint and how bad would it suck to be stranded and have to take it to a dealer that gives you grief because of a lift and then find out that thier was a lift friendly dealer 10 miles away. I don't think this needs to be a sticky post but I think it would be something good to have in the archives.

My dealership of choice in the Kansas City area is..... Crawfords Jeep
I worked for these guys for about 7 years and they are absolutely the BEST in the KC area. Hope this post takes off it could help you out one day.

I don't know if this will work for everyone, but the guy who has sold me two Jeeps is now the Service Advisor at Kern Jeep in Winchester, VA. His name is Scott, great guy. He had my rear u-joints, and the LF CV axel replaced under warrenty even with the lift.

Lakes Jeep in NH. I believe it's Tilton, near Laconia. The service manager's name is Butch. Great Guy, replace my upper ball joints 2 under warranty with lift on. No questions :D Also got dealer cost for passenger side mirror assembly, with heat. When a tree jumped out and knocked it off. I hate those jumping trees.

We should do a frappr map of lift-friendly and off-roading friendly dealers and who to talk to. List the service advisor and the tech. Be kinda nice to look on there and map out your route before heading off on a trip.

For those of you who don't know, there is a LOST frappr map....

Marty Franich Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Watsonville, Ca. They sell lifted Dodges and have been great. I've had every service done there and no issues with aftermarket skids or anything. When my rear brake pads were wearing down they let me know they had the stock one in, "but looking at your Jeep we doubt you'd want those and will probably get something better"

:D

If we are going to start a map of lift friendly dealers. May I also suggest a list of un-friendly dealers?

I would like to start off that list with OURISMANS JEEP in Clarksville, MD. Just ask for Dangelo Cates the worst most argumentative service adviser in the world. He will be real quick to tell you what kind of an idiot you are for even thinking of lifting a Liberty.

But no I am not bitter.

Bringing back an old thread because I've found a dealership that has treated me very well. I've taken my Jeep in a few times to Liberty Jeep on 161 in Pataskala, OH (just East of Columbus) and they've performed a bit of service on it. They're always friendly and asking about the lift and where I go. Gotten comments like "that's what a Liberty should be like out of the factory". Service is great and they replaced the LBJ under the recall and never said anything about the lift.

Allen Motors in Derry, NH (just south of Manchester-east of Nashua) is lift friendly. They warranty anything as long as your modifications aren't the source of the problem-for example, CV damage on a JK with 7" of lift and stock driveshafts wouldn't be warrantied. Basically, they're just a reasonable dealer.

D'ambrosio of Salt Lake. Mine was lifted when I bought it new. They now use the RockFather II but I am sure they would have no quarrels doing other lift brands.

Adam's Jeep in Aberdeen, Maryland. They customize brand new Jeeps to sell off the showroom floor with warranty. I was there last week and they had an 07 JK with a 3" Rusty's lift, 35's, aftermarket bumpers front and rear and a Warn winch on the floor that they had dubbed the Ron Adams Rockcrawler Edition. The owner had personally signed the sunvisor and had on there that it was number 3 of only 20 they would be building that way. On the wall of the showroom they have a poster with four different lift options that you can get as a dealer installed option. All that being said, John the service writer, always remembers me when I come in and helps me out all the time. The reason I was in last week was to have a rear shock replaced (no charge) that had blown. They installed my long arm lift back in October. And when I went back two months after the lift install asking how I was supposed to secure my swaybar links, they said some of the kits didn't have the storage pins and the parts manager, Don ripped open somebody else's lift kit to pull out the storage pins so the tech could put them on my Jeep. Also no charge. Sometimes they are a little pricey but the service is always good.

Noblesville, Indiana (just north of Indianapolis): Kahlo Jeep Chrysler Dodge. They are not a Skyjacker dealer, but they will order and install both the spacer and Platinum kits on a KJ. Prices are salty, though. They would have charged me $700-800 for the cheapest Skyjacker spacer lift.

I went there for have noisy front axle troubleshot, and my lift kit never came up in conversation.

I am wary of Champion CJD in Indianapolis due to some poor experiences there before I was lifted. However, they did replace a drive shaft under warranty and never mentioned my spacer lift. When I asked them about installing a lift a year ago, the service manager's response was along the lines of, "That's not something we can do." I left it at that, not wanting to open a warranty-related can of worms. However, I always see several modded and lifted CJs and TJs in the employee parking area. That's a good sign.
