| Post subject: | RRO adventure rack |
BACKGROUND: When I first got my jeep I drilled holes through my side roof bars (like 6 per side) and made a few crossbars to hold some stuff on a camping trip. I felt it was a little poorly done, so a few months ago I got some RRO roof rails (needed to carry stuff and RL was too long of a wait) to replace my OEM ones with too many holes. Well, the rails are a fine product, fit well but I did have to repaint (some rust showed up around a weld the first day it rained) over the powder coat. I ended up using rustoleum hammered black (same as my sliders) and it turned out great. Well yesterday I installed their adventure rack (the roof rack I bought off e-bay just sucked and since I already had their rails I stayed with them for the rack) and I really wanted the ability to remove the rack if it wasn't going to be used for some time. The fit was fine, I repainted it from the get go to prevent rust. ![]() ![]() ![]() One u bolt did break though (I wasn't torquing them I swear!) ![]() I inverted it to keep a low profile (sits 1/8th inch off roof) ![]() Because I had one issue with the U bolt, and the design puts all the weight on the U bolts, they might be an upgrade in the future. I DO like the looks, and quality overall, but for the price I would perfer a boiler or RL rack if I didn't want it modular. 4 out of 5 stars ![]()
