It was suggested to me only at the front..... and I can see why, but back only? why?! |

I know some guys that do truck pulls and they will spread the stance in the rear to spread out weight but I don't see a reason for it on a trail rig. |

Only for about 5 minutes when I first installed Spider Trax on my Liberty. Just goofing off, hot rod Liberty, joked about throwing some slicks on the back and taking it to the drag strip. Once the giggling stopped we threw the front spacers on and the incident was never mentioned again, until now. I can't see a benefit. |

Reason I asked is because I do not have a lift, and I know that front wheel spacers would cause rubbing. And I want a wider stance. I was thinking 1" wheel spacers on rear. Will it change handling? And how so? |

I used to drive those little US Mail trucks (called LLV's) and they had the tires closer together in the front than in the rear. The advantage was a more narrow turning radius, but the huge disadvantage was you got zero traction in snow. All four wheels would have to plow snow with that arrangement, but if the rears follow in the tracks of the fronts, you get better traction. They were rear wheel drive also, with little weight over the axle, which didn't help either. I don't recommend widening your rear stance without making the front the same. |

Being a 4WD, any differences in tire size will tear up your drivetrain while in 4. |
