Post subject:  Torque Converter

Hello, I posted a similar post yesterday in the wrong place (look to the left side of screen now to see how that happened  ) Anyway, I think my torque converter may be going out in my 05 KJ Sport 3.7L. There's a whining noise, and a loss of power to the wheels, almost like the Trans. is slipping. Feels like it's in neutral sometimes. RPM's jump between gears. Sound right? If so, is it much more difficult to change out a torque converter than a clutch? I changed the clutch in my wrangler about 2 months ago and that wasn't bad. Any help is appreciated. I have a friend that owns a trans. shop and his "friend price" is still WAAAYYY more than I can spend. I don't mind turning a wrench or sweating, but if it's super technical I'm not a proffessional. Thanks

p1776 - Solenoid Switch vale stuck l-r

Trans is severely overheating in 4th in full lock; overdrive at 197 severely exceeding limit of 67, pump noise noticed, temps exceeding 268; once in operation temp, 1st gear shudders and slips heavily.

HELP ME DIAGNOSE!!!

Yeah, I don't have that technical of data on mine, but my best friend has a transmission shop and he drove it yesterday for me. He doesn't have a clue what's wrong with it, but there is something going bad. his best advice was tot get it scanned, and prepare for the worst........ :( we'll see
