Greetings,

I seem to have developed a small crack in the plastic portion of my radiator. Its a relatively slow leak, but most definitely needs to be addressed.

My question is, looking at the picture, is this something than can be repaired or do I need a whole new radiator...should I just not bother trying to band-aid it and get a new radiator right now.

Thanks,

-Ryan

I had a similar crack in Mr. Darcy's radiator and while I completely agree with replacing it, a little JB Weld can definitely hold you until you find a good deal and the brand you want. I took the extreme route and we lasted almost a year, but I do not recommend it if you have the means to get a new one.

Agreed, I had a crack in the same spot (I think all KJ's have at some point lol) I was in a tight spot at the time so I drained the rad some drilled a small hole at either end of the crack to stop it from spreading. Then I sanded the entire area around it out about 2 inches through on some JB weld a thin sheet of fiberglass matting I had onto that then let it set a few minutes followed by coating it with a thick layer of JB all around I then forgot about it all together and about 2 years later literally the day I started the SAS the patch blew off it now has a new one in it.
