I'm considering buying new wheels for my Liberty - does anyone have a quick rundown on the merits of 17" rims vs 16"?

17" are good for bling bling, but if you're going to bling, go for like a 24" rim :-P

16" are good if you ever want to get replacement tires or go offroad. Not many all-terrain or offroad-terrain tires come in 17" rim. I would say the majority of people who replace the rims go with a 15 or 16" rim.

Note: if you go with a 15" rim, make sure it clears the discs, some rims are a little too tight for the large brake discs.

Tell me about it. I love my 17's but its really hard to find tires that fit. I think Im going to get the geolanders.

My 17's are stock by the way. They are the chrome clad ones. 17x7 I think.

I'd go with 16" Much more options to choose for tires. However, Cooper does make some nice tires in 17" A nice M/T and A/T tire.

16" always works out for the best in the case of tires.

And with the new Wrangler offering 16,17 and even 18 inch rims hopefully the tire companies will come out with more tire options to fit those rim sizes.

More mods planned than money.
