I am looking for a new muffler to install on my 2009 liberty and Im trying to find something with a lot deeper and throatier sound. Please include all parts that I would need to complete the job if you have any ideas or know of any good mufflers. Thanks!

Thats the muffler I run. You'll notice it's alot deeper and raspy. I like the sound around town or wheeling, but if you have to listen to it on long-term highway driving it gets old lol. I drove 19hrs from MO to FL and had a killer headache. Overall though I like the muffler day to day.

Flowmasters have a drone on the highway like nothing else
Magnaflows have the sound and no drone

so would you say the Magnaflow has the same deep throaty sound with no drone? And by drone do you mean like a constant annoying loud "hum" from driving on the highway?

Yeah, like on the highway mine drones bad. It gets on my nerves honestly :? I just havent changed mine out yet. Sounds awesome around town & wheeling.....but that drone on the highway is killer.

Depends on how you want it hung. Routing the pipes back the factory way a good shop should have everything you need. I had mine mounted after the cat, then coming out from the muffler I have about a 6" piece that goes toward the rear axle then is cut at an angle pointing toward the ground. I didn't wanna run it over the axle again for a number of reasons. Main one being I didn't want tail pipes out the rear because I've come off of a few rocks and smacked my rear end on em & I didn't want smashed pipes.

(emphasis mine)

That right there is the reason you've got such a drone. The exhaust is coming out under the jeep along with much of the sound, reflecting off the road surface and then back up into the cab of the Jeep via the trunk. Not only is this generally unsafe vis-a-vis the exhaust location, but it will absolutely make the sound intolerable for any longer drive. (Some of that headache might also be carbon monoxide poisoning from exhaust leaking into the cab.) My advice? get that exhaust either pointed out the side or over the axle and out the back properly. Less drone and safer too.

Yeah, I think when we re-run it, it'll be out the side of the vehicle :JEEPIN:
