I feel your pain. I love watching my son play baseball, but we still Make time for Wheelin' He only has to miss 2 games this year while we are in Moab (last year was 4 games). We try to not take the game too serious as he is only 12 and has many years of baseball ahead of him. If he keeps showing skill into high school we might have to rethink his missing games for wheeling and such. Then it might make sense to get really into it if he can possibly use it to get some college money.
Not saying you are one of them, but many parents get way too wrapped up in the game at an early age and hoping their kid will go on to a full college scholarship on baseball. I can't believe the parents that already think their kid is going to play pro ball. I think it is wishful thinking that their kid will be their future meal ticket so they keep pushing harder. I see many young kids that are so burned out that they don't even like playing any more. Sad. We are way more concerned with our sons grades than athletic performance and he does great academically. (Brag on, he just nailed a 4.0 gpa last quarter

)
Anyhow.......Baseball will still be there when you get back.
Skip some games and come out to Moab!!!
