Cliffs:

Went out on the trails yesterday for a couple hours, buddies xj got stuck, pulled him out.

10-15mins later Jeep overheats for the first time in the 3 years I've had it.

Pop hood- fan is not running. Hard wire it to battery to make sure its working--- checks out ok.

Check fuse, good.

Take Jeep home, no overheating in the 1hour drive.

End.

So, today I wanted to check the relays and replace to check to see if the relay was the issue. Open relay box-- one relay for lo speed, one relay for hi-speed. I would take it the lo speed may be for a/c, and hispeed for when its hot? Today driving to napa and autozone w/out the fan hooked up the Jeep was at normal operating temperature. After doing some searching I have hear some talk that the CRD doesn't utilize the fan until a/c is on? Ive read a lot of conflicting info. Whats the deal!

Air bubble? I guess we could bleed the system to make sure there aren't any others in there. Other than that I'd replace the relays.

So do you have a crd or 3.7?

3.7 uses low when needed and high when needed. Low is at least on with ac.

Sounds like it could be the fan relay under the battery.

If you got a CRD, come over to the CRD section.
