I have a chance to get some '98 15" stock Wrangler sport rims for free. I am wondering if anyone knows if they will fit with the disc brakes on the 2005 CRD. Also does anyone know the backspacing? Is it less or more than the CRD (Limited) rims? I am looking for a little wider stance and something to mount MTR's on. |

Okay... I know Rubicon wheels will fit, I have seen them on KJs. The 98 TJ wheels are the same bolt pattern, so that shouldn't be an issue. Unless there is another issue out there that I am unaware of I would say they would. |

I think there is a problem with the calipers because of the stock 5.5in backspacing... That is why I had to get 4.5in backspacing on my YJ when I got a Ford 8.8 rear diff.. The stock steel wheels would hit the calipers.. Rubicon rims are 16in rims and have a 5in backspacing... HTH Ben |

HTH Ben Thanks Ben, I was afraid that they might not get around the brakes. |

Yeah.. Rear disc brakes are great.. But there is the problem of the caliper.. If you want some steel rims.. You can get some 15in Crager Soft 8's with 4.5in backspacing that should work.. They also make the same kind in 16in rim size... and they are relatively cheap.. http://www.summitracing.com has them.. Ben |

Ben FYI, it's the front brakes that are the problem with 15" rims. The rears are small enough your could probably put a 14" wheel on them. |
