Post subject:  OEM+ Modifications for a CRD Sport

Just wanted to know if there were any other "upgrades" I could see about doing to my sport like the steering wheel radio controls or interior footwell lights? I'm not sure but I've seen that some people put the defrosting rear mirrors on their KJ's but I'm not sure if that requires a harness or not. Basically looking for something like the interior footwell lights where they harness already has the sockets, you just need to source a factory part (the lamp assemblies). Are there any others?

I tried looking around but couldn't find anything relating to these types of "modifications". :SOMBRERO:

Thanks!

Evic system is a good one...only one that comes to mind right now actually.

If I have cruise but no sunroof do I need any extra computer modules/harnesses? Or just the display pod?

Adding those things will likely require some additional harness. Based on what I recall:
1. Sir Sam has or had several EVIC assemblies and has some experience getting them working but IIRC getting the right EVIC assembly for a specific CRD is a bit of a problem.
2. adding steering wheel controls for the radio is not too difficult. See viewtopic.php?t=26531 for what's needed and how too. If you have a factory radio that accepts input from those controls it should work fine. If you have or plan to use an after market radio with steering wheel controls check Crutchfield for the Axxess (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ex2zRctDzK ... -ASWC.html) interface which works much better than the PAC one. The Axxess install instructions are or were a bit funky so if you go that route and want to see my update to their instructions just drop me an email.
