Has anyone made the switch over to synthetic on their winch from steel cable? I have a XRC 8 and i am pretty sure it came with 5/16 94'. I am thinking of either doing the 5/16 100' or the 3/8 84'. So the two questions I have are... 1. What company should I lean towards. Viking, smittybilt, master pull...etc. 2. Thimble or hook set up. I already have a viking hawse fairlead that was given to me so I got that. Mainly I am looking to just save weight and I am sick of steel cable, had it on the range rover and the atv. -Steve |

Check the prices on amazon, I bought my smittybuilt much cheaper than I could buy anywhere and it's was brand new. It works great. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Viking, Master Pull or certain Warn. The others are made in China. I have the thimble set up. It gives you more flexibility and make sure you get the rock sleeve. |

Alot of the guys on the ih8mud forums like the master pull and some used the viking. In all honesty it would come down to those to and a price comparison. And dont forget the protective sleve nothing like messing your investment up first pull. |
