| Post subject: | Trouble with a 2002 3.7L |
Hello, I have a Jeep Libby CRD and I have come to this forum for a lot of help, however my libby is running just fine without any issues, the trouble maker is a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 3.7L and an automatic tranny. I have not had much in the way of luck getting this thing to run, I replaced the timing chains and all that go with it, No start every once in awhile a pop or spudder followed by a hard compression stroke, I have triple checked the timing and all seem to be fine. I replaced the Cam and Crank Positioning sensors then I put the old Cam cog because the new one with the tone ring was incorrect, PROBLEM SOLVED ... or so I thought, The truck seems to try to start with about a second or 2 of running followed by a back fire normally through the intake but not always then back to cranking. There are no codes at this time and I do not have any accessories installed at this time just the Timing chain cover and the crank pulley. Being that this is the same engine found in many of our Gas libbys I thought I'd ask you guys. Please help me. lol Oh and when I bought it it would start but it ran rough and if you tried to give it any gas it would stall out. |
