Post subject:  Rocky Road Rock Father kit - what do you think?

So after I put my new Rocky Road Outfitters OTT kit on, and blew out my struts in a week, I find this site and read that the OTT sucks. Just my luck. So, Rocky Road offers the Rock Father kit that replaces the springs up front, and I'm wondering what experiences people have had with this kit, and does it suck as badly as their OTT? If I can save a couple hundred bucks and not have to buy a Frankenlift I'd be happy, but not if the Rock Father is going to make me spend more just to replace IT in the future. Needless to say, I'm frustrated. Any hosest opinions will be appreciated.

Suck it up and buy the Frankenlift. All J will work hard to make sure you are happy with it and they won't steer you wrong. They have been working hard to make sure it is still the best KJ lift out there.

I put the RockFather II with the HD springs on mine about 2 months ago, I love it, I had that stupid OTT kit as well. Blew the struts also.

If a company wants to keep selling that stupid OTT, why stick with them and buy a different product from them? Go with the other proven lifts.

3 Most commonly used and well accepted coil lifts.
Frankenlift
Rusty's
Skyjacker

I'll stick with them mostly because their shop is close to where I live, and I can go beat down their door in person if I have any problems with the Rock Father. Forgive my ignorance, but what is the HD spring? Heavy Duty I'm guessing? I don't have any extra stuff up front like a winch or after market bumper, so do you think I'd be OK with the one they designed for the stock bumper?

That is why they continue to exist and sell the OTT. They won't stop selling it until it hurts their business. By giving them more money and business you are sending them the wrong message. Hope it works out ok for ya.

My father always said: "Screw me once, shame on you......Screw me twice, Shame on Me." His actual choice of words was more colorful though.
