| Post subject: | cabin air problems |
I noticed on a longer trip the other day when I had the AC on and in recirculating mode, the upper vents would sometimes stop blowing regardless of fan speed, after a while they'd blow air again but would eventually stop. If I would switch it over to the AC lower and upper vents mode, it'd be just fine. I can't remember 100% but I think I had a similar problem in the winter when I'd be using the top and lower vent settings with the heat and occasionally one of the vents wouldn't always blow, or blow intermittently. Does anyone have an idea of where to start looking for the problem? I don't know whether it is a physical or electronic problem. Any advice would be appreciated. Edit: My ride is an '04 KJ V6 4WD Jordan |

Don't use recirculating mode all the time. It's just ment to speed up cooling when 1st starting the AC and should not be used for more then 10-15mins.You maybe freezing the evaporator and why it stops blowing all together. When you switch to fresh air modes it thaws the evaporator and starts blowing normally again. |

thanks for that info. I'm still wondering if there is a problem with the heat settings, but I don't need to worry about that for a few months. |

If it starts blowing air as soon as you change the position then its not freezing up. Sounds like you have a blend door doing something odd. Mine use to freeze up, put a new low pressure switch in it and all is well. If the ac is on i use inside air. Lowers the humidity levels and makes it easier on the ac. |

That shouldn't cause it to freeze but it should unload according to the evap or leaving air temp. |
