The all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited grows to mid-size SUV proportions, offering even more comfort and space, even more versatility, even more open-air options, even more off-road capability, even more on-road refinement, even more convenience and safety features, and even more power and fuel efficiency.

“Combining four-door convenience with Wrangler’s unique open-air design and unmatched off-road capability, the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is the only four-door convertible on the market,” said George Murphy, Senior Vice President – Global Brand Marketing, Chrysler Group. Wrangler Unlimited expands the Jeep experience and core values – freedom, adventure, mastery and authenticity – to a broader range of customers who always wanted a Wrangler, but also more space and versatility.”

The all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited features a 2946 mm wheelbase, achieved by adding 523 mm to the standard all-new 2007 Wrangler’s 2423mm wheelbase. The additional length allows for a larger rear seat that features three seating positions, as well as more hip, leg and shoulder room. In addition, Wrangler Unlimited offers nearly triple the rear cargo space.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited utilises the same five-link solid-axle suspension configuration as the standard 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited also retains Wrangler’s coveted removable full-framed or half doors, exposed hinges, fold-down windshield and innovative removable and convertible tops.

This doesn't make me happy: "The wheelbase of the 4-door Wrangler Unlimited has been extended by more than 20 inches"

Other than that, I like it.

I wonder if they are going to come up with the Rubicon Model.

I don't why they wouldn't make a rubi unlimited. They did it before. All I know is that when they make a diesel rubi unlimited I am going to one of the first to order one. Come on DCX bring it to the US.

They had a real good article in the Toledo Blade today about it, no mention of the diesel though. Have seen them running around Toledo for a little while. They have taken them down to Southeastern Ohio (Athens area) a couple of times in the past 2 weeks to try them out. Tried to get pics but trying to drive, take a picture and watch other stupid drivers does not work!
Interesting article also about one of the main guys at Jeep now, while in college he did a report for one class about the history of Jeeps and now is marketing them. He stated that the Jeep should always remain one of the top 4 wheel drive makers in the country. That was also in the Blade today

That rockkrawler article is good. Notice the stats at the bottom, base rear axel ratio is 3.21:1, with all other options being 4.11:1.

The X and Sahara versions feature the second-generation Command-Trac part-time, two-speed transfer case, featuring a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio. An optional Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential provides extra torque and grip during low-traction situations. The top-of-the-line Rubicon comes with an Off-Road Rock-Trac two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio, as well as electric front- and rear-axle lockers, Active Sway Bar System and 32-inch B.F. Goodrich off-road tires.

Did you also see where they mentioned a 2 wheel drive version..
Over all.. I like it.. We are going to get the 4 door model... which according to the dealership won't be available until November.. Jeep dealerships are taking preorders for the 2 door model in June and they should be hitting the lots by Sept 1st...

I personally think that the 4 door model is going to compete with the H3.. And I think it will win.. It has too.. It is a JEEP!! :D

Yeah.. I saw that.. It is because they beefed up the frame and the body panels.. Instead of a single thick sheet of steel it is double walled if I am not mistaken.. Also they put heavy duty reinforcements in the doors...

I wanted to go to the NY Auto show to see it but it's too long of a drive. The weather's getting nice and too many things to do so I guess I'll have to wait.....................

Jeeps web site lists a Diesel for export only for the 2007 Wrangler. I hope that they are watching this club and listening to the consumers and decide to bring it here, of course it has to pass emissions first.

Wow. I really like it. I bought my KJ as a more practical replacement for my 01 TJ when my kids were born. If this had been on the lot - it would have been a tough choice. I do like my KJ, though.

With the current price of fuel $2.85 for regular in Indianapolis, IN, if DCX wants to sell more units they need to offer the diesel in more models. Most carr companies are saying hybrid...hybrid...hybrid, but all they are doing is taking an existing engine and slapping a battery and electric motor in it. The engine itself still burns the same amount of fuel. They haven't improved on anything yet. The diesel is an improvement because it does consume less fuel. They figured this out in Europe a long time ago. That is why they offer a diesel version in most of our favorite models over there, but not here. With the way that prices are going up I think the gov and hopefully some of the auto manufacturers will realize that we need vehicles that consume less fuel without sacrificing the performance.
