I went off roading this weekend. I bottomed out a couple of times. The damage was not much, just a couple good hits to the lower support, where you would attach you skid plates to in the front.

My question is that since I chipped off some paint what is the best way to clean these surfaces, and paint them so they don't rust in the future.
What kind of paint should I use?
thanks

Sandpaper then clean with some paint prep/solvent & Rustoleum spray paint.

i think your best bet would be to just undercoat the bottom of your jeep, if you plan on doing more off roading!!! just hose all of the dirt off let it dry than spray it . i live in ohio and the rock salt from the snowplows is terrible, so i undercoated mine to keep the bottom from rusting!!
