I originally posted in this problem in the CRD forum, but its not CRD specific. After driving for ~30 minutes in 4wd full-time, I am unable to return the lever to 2wd. It shifts into 4wd part-time, full-time, neutral, and 4low, but not into 2wd. I tried shifting while stopped, moving, gliding down a hill, and other scenarios to no avail. The linkage looks in good order, and I am able to grab the shift lever on the transfer case and move it into all of the options except 2wd. I put the jeep on jack stands, and all wheels are engaged in part-time, full-time, and 4low. Interestingly, only the rear wheels are engaged in neutral. Any insight or assistance with this problem will be appreciated.
