Ever since my 2012 was brand new, we've had gear whine while coasting. I now some gear whine is normal and not harmful, but when is too much ?

Also, recently we've noticed on (2) separate occasions while driving real slow (under 10MPH) the rear end made a loud clunking noise and felt a "bump" at the same time.

I'm more concerned about the clunking than I am the gears whining.

I do plan on taking it in to the dealer soon, but find the time.

Anyone else experience these issues with the rear ends of your Libertys ?

BTW, our 2012 Liberty only has 6,900 miles on it right now.

I'd say my 2008 makes some sort of noise at really low speeds like 5 mph but pretty sure it's normal.

The clunk with a bump sounds like the LSD in the rear axle. Could be the source of the grinding noise if it is worn out or damaged. 2012? that kind of stuff should be covered under the warrantee.
