Who has a ScanGauge and which model do you have? How do you like it? What year is your Liberty? http://www.scangauge.com/

I have a Scangauge II for my '08 KK. It works great. The only feature I haven't been able to display yet is the transmission temperature. But it works great for MPGs (reason I got it) and everything else. I also have used it to diagnose my friend's check engine light and clear his stored codes after fixing the problem.

Thanks for posting! What else does it read? I'm looking for something that will read my water temp and oil pressure. I figured I would have to add my own mechanical transmission gauge and oil temperature gauge. Does it read voltage?

I can go check the variables it displays for you this afternoon. I had it out of my Jeep to diagnose my friend's check engine light, but I've been wanting to reinstall it back in the Jeep. Your post has given me the motivation. I keep the cable hidden behind the dashboard knee panel so it's out of the way, and I just unclip the SG2 and hide it when I'm parked in sketchy locales. I have velcro on the SG2 and on top of my steering column so it can be easily removed.

To partially answer your question, the SG2 has a ton of features but not all vehicles send it info for everything (hence no trans temp in the KK). But, it does have a way to set up custom gauges that I haven't played with yet. So some features might be available as an "x gauge". It does have water temp and voltage. I will check for you about the oil pressure. I'll make a list of what it does on the KK and post it here. Meanwhile, here is a link to the users manual on the SG website: http://www.scangauge.com/support/user-manuals/scangaugeii-user-manuals/

Hi Diesel,

I cycled through the options on my Scangauge II and this is the list of default gauges that are available for my 3.7L:
AVG - average fuel economy
TFC - trip fuel cost
HPR - horsepower
CPM - cost per mile
VLT - battery voltage
FIA - intake air temperature (F)
FPR - fuel pressure
GPH - gallons per hour
IGN - ignition timing
LOD - engine loading
LP - closed loop / open loop fuel system status
MAP - manifold absolute pressure
MPG - miles per gallon
MPH - miles per hour
RPM - revolutions per minute
TPS - throttle position sensor
FWT - water temperature (F)

I bet your '07 would display the same gauges, as our engines are the same (assuming despite your handle that you don't have a CRD). Let me know if you have any other questions about it.
Cheers,
LFH

I have a similar device, a Maxitrip and it has the same available readouts & features.
I'd like to see the transmission temperature too but it's not available on my Maxitrip.

don't think it affects you - but to others reading the thread
Scangauges (and many other code readers) have problems on CRD's

due to the Software kludge on the diesel - gauges stop working about 20 minutes or so into the drive
and if you leave them plugged in - they can kick you out of overdrive...while cruising... not fun.

they work great on startup - and when plugged in occasionally.

Tom, does it sometimes get too hot in that location? I’ve heard that some digital devices similar to the ScanGauge can overheat and temporary stop working.

Finally found a picture of the bracket I fabbed up, cable running in front of it was for the GPS. Cable for the Scan Gauge is run up behind the dash
