New here but have found some useful info and looking for some more. Any thoughts on a similar problem or link to older post would be appreciated. Front end noise that seems to increase and decrease with speed seems to be coming from right side. Had a very small amount of play in right tire from top to bottom. Got some opinions and changed right side wheel bearing hub assembly and axle shaft. Noise still the same. It is getting worse and feeling vibration under gas pedal. I'm going to take out the front cv driveshaft and hope that stops the noise. I'm guessing it would be ok to drive for a short time without it. Ill cover the holes to prevent fluid loss. Is it possible to rebuild the cv boots or have to replace the whole thing? 2006 liberty 110,000 miles. |

You can remove the front driveshaft and drive with no problems, there will be no fluid loss at all since there is no open sources. If the rear boot is gone then you can get parts for about 60 bucks and its an easy job to R&R it |

The rear boot was torn but not the source of the noise. It was the driver side wheel bearing. Where can I find the rebuild kit for $60? I can only find them $150 plus. Thanks for the info and quick reply. I have been browsing this forum and now I'm thinking about about a lift as well. |

You can get the rear CV joint for the front driveshaft from DriveShaftParts.com for $52 with free shipping. They just dropped the price again - woot! Bob |
