Post subject:  Missing bolts out of 2007 jeep liberty front driveshaft

A few months ago my jeep was making a strange noise and a local shop thought it was the front drive shaft so he removed it, turns out it was something else. Since i could drive it without the driveshaft since its 4x4 he was gonna reinstall it later before winter, he gave me the driveshaft but the bolts are missing and i am planning on selling the jeep tuesday and my husband was gonna put it back in but no bolts. does anyone know what bolts can be used as replacements? o reilly said they could match them but i had to know the exact size and thread count, but i dont have one to look at. any help is appreciated. thank you

Take one bolt out, go to an ace hardware, or somewhere with standard grade 8 bolts or metric 10.9 bolts, and get a bolt with the same thread pitch that is either the same length or longer. Longer bolts will not hurt anything, as they will just stick out through the CV joint mounting surface slightly, but will not interfere with anything. Grade 8/10.9 is more important than the length.

The bolts are missing. I cannot take one out to match it up. I know they are 8mm, its the length i dont know, they seem like they would have to be close to 3"

Just go to the dealer
If you're missing the bolts then I assume you are also missing the curved plates that go under the bolts as well so.........dealer items or junk yard
