I did a timing belt, rocker arm job awhile back. In doing so I perged the ac system to get the condenser out of the way to make things a little easier (removed everything from fan shroud forward). The epa will probably be at my doorstep after this but I vented the frion to the atmosphere then took things apart. My delima is that it now won't take frion. The system was empty and I can get about a half of can back in and it starts popping what seems like a relief valve on the compressor and it spews back out. It will spit and sputter till the pressure inside the system drops to a certain point. I'm putting it in on the low pressure side (its the only nozzle that my hose tool fits on of course so I know its going in the right place. I didn't have anything taken off from the compressor side only at the condenser. Is it possible to have gotten the connections reversed when it went back together? Everything worked well before I took it apart. It was ice cold and all was good now it won't take frion. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is so. Yes I do here the compressor kicking on and off as it should.
Thanks,
Steve

Must replace reciever/dryer(and add 2-3oz of the correct PAG oil) as you left the system open, can't really hook up the lines wrong as there form fitted.Don't forget to put new O-rings(AC specific ones) and lube them with PAG oil on any connection you took loose.

Then after that the system must be vacuumed down to at least 28-29 in of vaccum and left that way for 30-60mins then add the correct amount of R134A by weight(not by cans, very specific amount is required and those can do not list the specific amount of actual R134a in the can).

Awesome. Thanks. Sounds like you know what you are doing. Looks like I just need to take it to an ac shop. I have no way to vacuum down.

X2 on an AC shop if you lack the gear and experience.

FYI while pulling front end stuff makes access easier doing so is not really necessary and purging the AC is certainly not needed. Hindsight is wonderful though.

Hexus suggested pulling front before he helped me. He gave me the unforgettable quote, "my hands are as big as hams and I can't fit in there" haha. I just didn't know where to stop...
