Hey there, have a 2005 CRD liberty that has a tendency to overheat on the temp gauge, but only when going up hill. The vehicle is up to operating temp before going up the hill. Any ideas?

Thanks

Post this in the section below..."Liberty CRD..Love the Torque".

That is where all the CRD experts hang out and overheating has been discussed often!

When you post over there you need to provide more information such as:
1. ambient temperature.
2. not towing or towing - if towing what weight
3. what sort of hill - long mountain pass vs smaller bump in the road.
4. what's the temp gauge reading in marks past vertical.
5. vehicle mileage
6. recent service such as coolant change and was it done with HOAT antifreeze or some "universal" crud especially if green in color.
7. AC on or off
8. quicky test for clogged system. When overheating switch to heat - is it "inferno" hot and does temp gauge come down.
