First off I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has contributed here, I've lurked here a while and the site has helped me out a bunch.

Now to my issue: my doors are rusting along the bottom-rear corners. It looks like there is a drain at the base of the door, but I'm not sure. I am going to fix the rust before it gets worse, but I would like to find out where the moisture is comming from so I can stop it from happening again. BTW, mine is an 04 with 100K on it, I've had it since 18K, second owner, and it has never been away from home in Toledo, aka the rust belt.

Moisture/rain/water when you wash your KJ all runs down inside the door and ends up going out of the bottom, all are the same. BUT, the salt/calcium they use in OHIO can get in and sit there and cause rust issues if you don't keep it flushed out.

Gotcha.... I figured it was the window drain.... I find it odd because every other truck/car/suv I have owned has either rusted in a bunch of places or not at all. The Liberty is the first vehicle I've had that has rust in a very few specific places. It's like they used good coatings on most stuff, but a few areas they didn't. Every time I crawl underneath it surprises me. I should say I've "inherited" the jeep, my wife drove it for most of the time, up and down the turnpike.... She got a '12 awd Dodge Journey as a replacement.

Odd that you showed the drivers door. Is that only door thats rusted? Mine has beginning stages and i wash mine more often that 99% of the people out there. Drivers door is the only one that shows it.

My passenger side rocker panel is bubbled up pretty good too. Guess im going to sand the rockers below the doors and coat it with bed liner. Got a quote of $350 per side for linex. Ill be doing that one myself.

Jeepjeepster - It's by far the worst. the driver's rear is also starting, but I don't see it on the passenger side. I don't think mine was washed at all between 18k-80k, I think it's the brine/salt combo they use on the roads around here.

tommudd - I will have to try one of these days, two kids + two dogs + hunting season hasn't left a lot of time for anything else, add in a kitchen/bath remodel due to a leaking pipe and I'm not sleeping much these days. :dizzy:
