Post subject:  My 350 swap

Okay so this all started with my 3.7 stacking a bearing and ruining most of the moving internal parts. So far it has been a lot cheaper to do the 350 swap, not easier but much cheaper!
Here's the progress so far:
Pulling the stock motor, trans, and tcase.
Image
Pulling the jeep to the shop.
Image
Getting everything off of the C10 that I needed.
Image
The adapter I needed from Advanced Adapters.
Image
Image
Painted and on the 350 Turbo.
Image
Had to buy a fuel pump for a 74 so the lines would come out the front of the motor instead of to the side.
Image
Motor mounts I needed.
Image
Oil filter relocater so I can change my oil without having to remove the driveshaft.
Image
The 350 in the Jeep
Image
Torch Time!
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Mounts, were going to weld metal stock on top of the cradle mounts and then a bolt will hold it on each side going straight up through the racing style mounts.
Image
Image
Image
We are mounting the cross member upside down and going to drill two holes in it to mount the transmission.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Heres just some more pics of the mounts, the clearance, and oil filter so you understand why I have to move the filter.

Thanks for viewing! there will be more to come its just moving very slowly because of work. My girlfriend brought it to my attention when I went and worked on it today that its been almost a month since I've been at the shop. So its a slow process lol

Thanks for the support yall. And I hooked up my fuse box today and everything seems likes its going to work so far(windows, lights, locks) I am going to have to have all mechanical gauges though. I've already got temp, volts, and oil on my pillar. Image

And I honestly appreciate the support. I'm in an argument with tjkj over at jeepkj.com and all he says is how its a bad idea and keeps putting it down. Won't be long before he gets on this thread either lol.

Troy would probably have been more supportive if you put a Ford in it.

I'm guessing from wire around the computer - that you don't have an emissions inspection that would require plugging into the computer.

Yeah I prefer my distributer on the back lol and yeah no emissions here in alamaba. So 02 sensors, cats, computer, fuel injection.... All out the door/for sale lol. And after talking to the officials down here if I build it before emissions if we ever start having emissions I'll be grandfathered in. Just like my dads lap belts in his dart. I've had this argument before and people have stated you cant put an older motor than what ever year the vehicle is, well no one in the courthouse could find any such law. So I'll be fine. No matter what anyone says on here. Lol. And if I get grandfathered-in in one state with emissions I can then live in any other state(if I wanted to)

Bet your logic on emissions would not fly in all states!
Some of them have some crazy laws :furious:
But you good as long as you stay in the southeast!

Haha, yes, I've read on several forums that if you try anything than someone else hasn't done before you'll grow unicorn nipples, it will blow up the first time you turn the key and literally kill not only you, but anyone who touched a wrench or torch to the thing within a 4 state radius, and several kittens and puppies will spontaneously combust.

Just to state that would be false since every vehicle built since 1975 has to meet emissions regardless if you do not have actual testing, and still false if they start testing later on.Only vehicles grandfathered in would be '74 and older only and that's being thrown out in CA already when they enforced stricter emissions for older vehicles then federally mandated.

Same thing I just posted at kjcountry:

Okay Troy you win. Now just leave this alone and let me keep posting about my crappy, illegal, and stupid build. I know what is legal and what's not. Whether or not you choose to believe it. Its not illegal. This is the last time I'm even going to acknowledge any of your post no matter what you say.

And thanks for bumping my post up again. Lol

TLDR: I like your build, don't stop.

I like crappy, illegal and stupid builds. Same could be said about SFA KJ but I like them....crazy and stupid at the same time. I have a buddy trying to put a SBF onto a stretched/raked out Harley frame. Like a Boss Hoss chopper. Crazy and stupid

Keep the post coming!!! Be nice to have kjwildman SBF vs your SBC run down the road together!! Then I will do a mid engine viper engine in my jeep!!!

Have you ever seen those VW beetles (i saw a new gen one at the car show last week with.....) where the guys take a s10 frame (??) and drop the body onto it. Pretty cool, same principle.

Sent with the power of children's screams!!

Definitely not going to stop and I've messaged wild man a couple times. I really wanna meet up once both ours are done! Even if I have to drive all the way to Ohio Lol. Can't wait to see a viper engine in yours haha.

Awesome build. I hope it all works out. It would be better if the members that have done swaps were more active around here.
Never had an issue with emissions or legal issues with a swap I did before, but it was on an older vehicle. 1977 Road Runner with a 1972 Coronet engine. Vroom vroom.
