got this thing crazy cheap because local mechanic couldn't figure this thing out. Free delivery to my house with 4 brand new tires. $700. 125k mileage, no dents, good paint with leather interior. I took a gamble that I would be able to fix. Had recent timing belt replacement. Jeep came delivered with the timing belt exposed and parts in the back. Timing is spot on, but after removal of valve cover valves have failed and currently waiting on rockers and lifters to arrive from the uk. I feel timing originallly timing jumped and technician realigned then walked away from situation because (at this point) I have no other reason for failure. Truck ran good for two months then died. timing marks spot on (when I got it) water pump has no play..... Hopefully I will have a resurrected liberty in the next few weeks. Spending my waiting period looking at other related updates, mods, and thing helpful to future performance. Was gonna fix and flip but 30mpg?!!! it may have found a home. Thanks for having me....I'm Brian. |

Welcome. For what it's worth IdParts (http://idparts.com/catalog/index.php?fi ... ehicle=124) has lots of what you might need at good prices. As to the timing being spot on does that mean with all 3 (2 cam and 1 flywheel) pins in? If doing a TB job on a good running engine you can get away with just the 2 cam pins as long as you mark a few things and everything stays as marked after the TB install. However, if timing "jumped" or otherwise got out that 3rd, flywheel pin, must be used to ensure that the cams AND the crank are mechanically realigned/retimed properly. |

Yes, I did all three pin alignments. It was spot on. |

Did you watch Corobotchickens (Sir Sams) youtube vids and make sure that you have the correct slack between the crank and the fuel pump and the way to fix that? You might have one tooth off on the crank. |
